Giant Buddha at Po Lin Monastery Hong Kong
The monastery was built in 1903 by three monks and gradually, more monks settled here. It is biggest monastery in Hong Kong located in Lantau Island and is home to world’s largest outdoor Buddha statue. The Giant Buddha in sitting position is made of copper and is 34 meter high.
After climbing 268 steps, you reach the platform where Buddha is seated. The eyes, lips, head incline and raised hand of the Buddha lend dignity and depth to statue. The visitors from all over world visit this monastery to see the Giant Buddha. Great vegetarian food is also served at the monastery.
